Contemporary dance at the Pantheon, 11th & 12th May 2019

Our favourite monument (and not just because it’s opposite the Hotel les Dames du Panthéon and Hotel des Grands Hommes) is offering a rare chance to see some modern dance in its spectacular nave – La figure de l’érosion by Nathalie Pernette – for two nights only.

Part of the 2019 season of Monuments en mouvement, which curates dance pieces in the capital’s monuments, the new creation by Nathalie Pernette La figure de l’érosion will be presented for two special nights inside the Pantheon.

It’s the last part of her triptych called Une pierre presque immobile, it lasts an hour and explores the idea of disintegration of stone statues, with fragments of bodies disappearing because of sun or rain. It’s “a slow evolution in movement for a sole final hypothesis: disappearance”.

You can book your seats online here.

And if you’re a fan of modern dance, the Pantheon is also hosting two dance workshopsCorps et décors – during the month of June (8th & 29th – book here), once again with the help of Compagnie Pernette.

You’ll visit the monument with two dancers who will perform short pieces in front of certain works found along the way.
