The new exhibition at the Delacroix Museum, in the same part of town as our hotels, takes a deep look at the painter’s creative process, showing his sources and inspirations, his preparatory drawings and his genius.

IN addition to the Delacroix works on show, there will be other pieces from selected artists of the 19th & 20th centuries such as Gaugin and Picasso to show the artistic filiations.

Three contemporary artists – Anne-Lise Broyer, Laurent Pernot et Jérôme Zonder – will also be showing their modern interpretation of the artistic process, to be compared with that of Delacroix.

Around the exhibition there are a lot of events being organised:

— A presentation of the exhibition in the auditorium at the Louvre on 6th June at 12.30pm (8€ / 6€ – reserve your seat here)

— A conference by the curator of the exhibition entitled L’atelier de l’artiste, la maison de l’écrivain, des espaces autres – on 12th June at 6.30pm (booking required)

— A guided walk around Saint-Germain-des-Prés at 11am on 19th May, 9th June, 7th July and 22nd September (5€, to be booked by e-mail here)

— Evening events called Delacroix Before at 6.30pm on 4th July, 1st August and 5th September, with special events (workshops, ‘participative visits’…)

— Two round tables on 23rd May and 28th June (free entrance with your entry ticket)

— Free entrance starting 5.30pm for Museum Night on 18th May

— Concerts every Wednesday and Saturday

— A special weekend for the garden event Rendez-Vous aux Jardins on 7th, 8th & 9th July, with a temporary creation by Anne-Lise Broyer

— A special evening for the launch of the Parcours Saint-Germain event on 23rd May…

— …and another special evening for the annual Fête de la Musique on 21st June

— A puppet show for kids on 22nd September

— Workshops, guided visits, film showings…

Open every day except Tuesdays from 9.30am-5.30pm. Late night opening until 9pm the first Thursday of every month

Admission: 7€. Free the first Sunday of every month, and th 14th July
