Drawings from the Berlin Kupferstichkabinett
The exhibition will display the whole outstanding collection of Rembrandt's drawings from the Kupferstichkabinett (Museum of Prints and Drawings) in Berlin. This relatively recent collection, assembled in 1830 and modelled on similar major collections in other European capitals, is a valuable but relatively unknown selection of Rembrandt's drawings.

The collection is distinguished by the variety of subjects and techniques: character studies in black and red chalk, as well as Biblical scenes, landscapes and portraits, mostly in pen-and-wash. Recent research has reattributed some famous drawings, formerly regarded as being by the Master, to Rembrandt's pupils. The exhibition contains 55 original drawings by Rembrandt, including the masterpieces Saskia as Bride (1633) and The Naughty Child (1635), as well as works by some of his pupils.
