Peter Knapp – Dancing in the Street exhibition at the Docks, 9th March – 10th June 2018

Swiss photographer Peter Knapp is the star of this new exhibition at the Docks – Cité de la Mode et du Design, on the banks of the Seine, not far from our hotels!

With over a hundred photos on display, the majority of them previously unseen, you’ll be able to check out Knapp’s graphic, experimental take on fashion from the 1960s and 70s, a style that made his reputation.

If you think the web is overflowing with make-up tutorials and women’s fashion vloggers, you’d be… right! However, there are some great online resources for men’s fashion and lifestyle too, and one of them is Comme un Camion, perhaps the biggest and smartest in France.

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming one of their journalists, Max aka « the driver » to the Hotel Baume for a fashion shoot with photographer Florie Berger) in our rooms and some of our vast terraces!

Fortuny, a Spaniard in Venice exhibition
at the Palais Galliera
4th October 2017 – 7th January 2018

Art and Culture

Designer Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo (1871-1949), was born in Spain but spent the majority of his life in Venice, where he became famous. His work is the subject of a new exhibition at the Palais Galliera.

With around a hundred pieces from Galliera’s own collections, as well as loans from the Museo del Traje in Madrid and the Museo Fortuny in Venice, it’s a veritable retrospective, with numerous examples of his famous pleated silks.

Dalida exhibition at the Palais Galliera

Although non-French speakers might not know her, Dalida was a huge star in France in the 70s and 80s, both a singer and actress who passed into legend when depression tragically caused her to commit suicide.

This new exhibition takes a look at her wardrobe, the subject of a large new donation to Paris’ fashion museum, the Palais Galliera, by her brother.
