For its ninth edition, artparis installs itself once again, as in the previous year, under the glass roof of the Grand Palais.
For this 2007 edition, the accent has been set upon contemporary art with the arrival of Parisian and contemporary galleries. On could name Philippe Chaume, Eric Dupont, Alain le Gaillard, Laurent Godin, Ghislaine Hussenot, Nathalie Obadia, Orel Art, Claudine Papillon, Rabouan-Moussion and RX among the French galleries. But also Artiscope of Bruxelles, Flatland Gallery from Utrecht, André Simoens of Knokke, Silk Road Gallery from Téhéran and Xin Dong Cheng Gallery of Peking. Consequently, photography takes a step forward due to the choice of a certain number of these galleries to put emphasis on this medium.
Having made itself known by an important exhibition of “classic-contemporary” works, dealers specialized in this period are still present at artparis: Carole Brimaud, Louis Carré, Darga & Lansberg, Di Meo, Die Galerie, Galerie Forsblom, Thessa Herold, Ernst Hilger, Galerie 1900-2000, Larock Granoff, Lahumière, Lasés, Lelong, Nothelfer, San Carlo, Nathalie Seroussi, Patrice Trigano, Zannettacci, Zlotowski…
Comprising nearly 30% of all exhibitors, international dealers maintain their course. Europe is present with five German galleries and five Italian galleries. These countries are closely followed by Belgium with four exhibitors. Three dealers make the trip from Switzerland and they also meet here a gallery from Austria, one from Finland, one from Sweden and one from the Netherlands. Outside of European borders, four American galleries will be present and, for the first time, one exhibitor comes from Iran and another one of China.
The Sculpture Program
Initiated in 2006, this program which allows a real emphasis upon a medium too seldom shown at fairs, is once again being organized.
Around forty galleries have been selected to participate with the following programs: Arp, Cardenas and Chirino by Thessa Herold, Arp, Duchamp and Max Ernst by Marion Meyer, Ian Burns by Ernst Hilger, Alain Clément by Baudoin Lebon, Norman Dilworth by Oniris, Philippe Hiquily by Patrice Trigano, André Masson by Die Galerie, Federica Matta by Samy Kinge, François Morellet by Jean Brolly, Nam June Paik by Albert Benamou, Bernard Pagès by Lelong, Javiez Pérez by Claudine Papillon, Moser Schad by Nothelfer, Daniel Spoerri by Thomas Levy, Subirà-Puig by Protée and William Sweetlove by GKM.
Nine editors will be participating at the fair. Jacques Boulan, Paul Bourquin, Editions Rémy Bucciali, Pasnic, Thinking Prints and four new arrivals: Editions Fanal, Eric Linard, Eric Seydoux and Wanted Paris.
