La Foire de Paris 2009 (The Paris Fair), 30th April – 10th May 2009 at the Porte de Versailles

A huge exhibition with a slightly naff image, currently trying to reinvent itself as hip, cool, chic, elegant… But what do they have to offer? Here are all the details…

The Foire de Paris’ reputation is of huge halls full of men showing off the latest vegetable graters, slices of sausage to taste and a couple of dodgy fashion shows. Not very 21st Century. But for 2009, the organisers are trying to tart up their image, go all ‘lounge’ and put themselves forward as “the biggest, the most astonishing, the most varied” fair of its kind in Europe. Hmmm… Forgive us if we’re sceptical…

In any case, 2,700 stands are waiting for you (and you money!), divided into four themes:

Home & Environment
* Kitchen, bathroom and household appliances
* Renovation solutions
* Energy and the comfort of the future
* Chimneys
* Garden
* Swimming Pool
* Real Estate
* Furnishing & decoration
* Hi-fi (image & sound)
* Objects to brighten up your home

Well-being and Leisure
* Feeling good
* Creative workshops
* Fashion accessories
* Clever product
* Hi-tech
* camping-caravanning

Cultures of the World
* Riches of the world
* Tropical countries
* Workmanship from France and Europe
* French and European wines and gastronomy

Events
* Councours Lépine (inventions contest)
* Used car sales (what?)

So, ready to ‘change your point of view’? 😉
