In this sweet little art fair for painters, photographers, sculptors etc. you might well come across our friend Yury Toroptsov who took part in our photo project A Hotel Photo, An Artist’s View (plus a few other nice, talented people no doubt).

I thought this art fair was a new event, but after looking on the official site I see that it was founded in 1943 during the occupation!

Being held over one week, this is your chance to discover nearly 150 young artists and support them by buying their work at the Espace Commines in the 3rd arrondissement in Paris (map here).

I have to admit that I’m not very keen on the sculptures and painting I saw on the site, but ome of the photo work looks interesting. As with a lot of art fairs, tastes differ…

The Salon de mai (May Art Fair) is at the Espace Commines, 17 rue Commines, 75003 Paris. Métro Filles du Calvaire (line 8). Open from midday to 8pm, with late night opening until 10.30pm on 14th. And – surprisingly – you have to pay to enter! 5€ (plus 10€ if you want to buy the catalogue).
