Rigoletto outdoors in the Senate gardens from 10th – 13th June 2009

Every year there’s a huge opera tour of French chateaux with a popular piece being performed outdoors to large crowds. This year’s choice is the old favourite Rigoletto by Verdi, with four shows just nearby our hotels in the Senate Gardens (part of the Jardin du Luxembourg)…

An intense drama of passion treason, love and vengeance. No not the Senate, Rigoletto! And you can see it in the splendid setting of the Senate Gardens in Paris.

A huge stage, a grand setting and a big show!

Of course the prices are also rather large: from 39€ in ‘category 3’ to 89€ per seat (in the ‘golden area’!). Click here to reserve, or ask for help at reception (the ticket site is all in French). You might also like to know that you can buy the official programme and blanket (?) for 18€ here, the official Rigoletto cushion for 8€ here, or go all out with the VIP special package which includes:

– a personalised invitation (that the write your name on)

– special welcome from hostesses

– a ‘cocktail dînatoire’ (light buffet, where you are allowed to eat a maximum of 20 things), champagne ‘à discrétion’ (meaning you can have some, but not a limitless amount)

– a “Vie de château” badge (sounds rubbish)

– the official program and blanket (no cushion then)

– and your seat in the ‘golden area’ near the orchestra.

285€ per person please!

For more information about the four nights of opera, click here to see the official site (in French). And if the weather looks iffy, call 0892 707 920 (which will cost you 34 centimes per minute) to know whether the show’s on or not.
