The Paris Cycle show 2009 from 2nd – 5th October
at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles

Despite the motorbike show being cancelled this year because of the current economic meltdown, bicycles seem to be holding up a little better, as the 2009 Paris Cycle show (Salon du Cycle 2009) is definitely still on (albeit for four days instead of five) at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Here’s all the essential info!

With the Vélib quick ‘n’ easy rent-a-bike service and the current trend for all things ecological, bikes are all the rage in Paris at the moment. The Salon du cycle is the proof, with over 300 French and internaitonal brands attending.

For us ordinary folks, it all happens on 3rd & 4th October 2009 from 10am – 8pm, with a special preview evening on the 2nd October from 5-10pm (during the day of the 2nd, and all day of the 5th, entrance is for professionals and press only).

As the salon is no longer riding on the coattails of the motorbike show (which usually gets all the attention) they are going all out to up its profile with special (cretinous) radio ads and new features during the show. Perhaps you’ll be able to find the unlikely bicycle being ridden by the Karl Lagerfeld clone on the poster?

The Salon du cycle runs from 2nd – 5th October (only open 3rd & 4th for the general public) at Paris – Porte de Versailles (here).
