Paris’ most chic department store, two minutes from la Belle Juliette, celebrates 160 years of existence with Catherine Deneuve as muse and lots going on!

Here’s all the info…For the classiest shopping experience under one roof, you’d be hard pressed to find somewhere better than le Bon Marché, and it’s been that way for the past 160 years!

To mark the anniversary, you’ll be able to ogle Catherine Deneuve in all their window displays (photos here) drawn by Marjane Satrapi. The ten drawings  of the French movie goddess can also be taken home in a limited edition box set – only 160 copies have been manufactured, but you’ll need to shell out 900€ to grab one of them. Thankfully, some of the proceeds go to the local children’s hospital.Inside the store, there’s practically a party on every floor:

– On the ground floor they’ve set up a temporary cinema (until 27th October 2012) where you can watch a brand new documentary called “Catherine Deneuve Rive Gauche” by Loïc Prigent. Monsieur Prigent seems to be very popular with Le Bon Marché as he designed their Xmas window displays last year, and an exhibition in-store the year before that!

– On the first floor there’s an exhibition called “160 years of illustration” showing the evolution of the store’s graphic style.
