Two exhibitions at the Pantheon –
Women and Resistance from 6th June – 6th July 2015, and Four lives in resistance until 10th January 2016

Already on show on the railings of Hôtel de Ville, the exhibition Femmes et Résistance (Women and Resistance) will be transferred to the Pantheon at the beginning of June – forty-six portraits of women who have resisted, fighters who risked their lives, both famous and unknown, who have remained in the shadows for too long.

At the same time, a new exhibition has opened inside the building – Quatre vies en résistance (Four lives in resistance) explores what ‘resistance’ means in the present day through the example of the four people whose remains will be transferred to the Pantheon in May – Germaine TillionGeneviève de Gaulle-AnthoniozPierre Brossolette and Jean Zay.

If you’re staying at the Hôtel des Grands Hommes or the Hôtel Les Dames du Panthéon, both are on your doorstep!

Strangely, although women played an important role in the resistance (keeping people hidden, organising information networks, printing clandestine flyers and newspapers, preparing bombs…) they have only received 10% of the medals given out for this crucial work. Femmes et Résistance hopes to show their incredible importance during the war.

The second exhibition Quatre vies en résistance is now showing inside the building. With a very modern approach, it’s 50% interactive, with screens on-site and activity on the web, with a timeline that will be revealed as time goes on.
