Presenting Carlotta Pietrini, head of reception at the Hotel Design Sorbonne, who tells us how she came to work at the hotel…

Since I was a little girl, I’ve always dreamed of working in a hotel and helping guests.

I attended hotel school in my native Italy. During my studies, I did work experience in some prestigious hotels in Rome.

However, the urge to travel was very strong, so after finishing my studies I started working for Club Med, a French company with holiday villages all over the world.

During this unforgettable professional experience, I was able to work in a number of different countries and meet lots of guests and colleagues of different nationalities.

I also spent a wonderful year on theClub Med cruising sailboat, looking after the logistical side of transporting guests between ports and airports.

After four years with Club Med, I decided to move to Paris.

One cold October day in 2011, six years ago, was the start of my experience with the Hôtel Design Sorbonne, and I immediately felt at home there!

As I’m far from my home country, the team at the Hôtel Design Sorbonne has become my second family, and I’m really happy to be part of this great team!
