Museum Week 2018 on the Left Bank
23rd-29th April 2018

Museum Week starts today, all over Europe (and actually, the world!), with a different theme every day – women, city, heritage, profession, kids, nature and different.

Let’s see what the numerous museums close to our hotels have on offer!

Museum Week is seven days, with seven themes and seven hashtags, perfect for sharing on the social networks, obvously.

Around our hotels we have some of the world’s greatest museums, and many of them have already started taking part in the event, starting with the ‘women’ theme for Monday.

The Quai Branly Museum is always very active on the social networks. Check out their Twitter feed so see the wonderful things they have on offer, like the workshop of the day inspired by Bettina Rheims.

Ou neighbour the Cluny Museum started the week by showing some remarkable works with a link toMuseum Week…

The Army Museum at Invalides highlighted a female soldier from Napoleonic times and the nurses that helped the wounded in time of war.

The Musée d’Orsay reminds us (and quite rightfully so) that is is now managed by a woman (albeit only since last month), something that is still extremely rare, and goes on to show some of their lovely portraits.

The Luxembourg Museum talks of the diverse women painted by Tintoretto, also the subject of their latest exhibition.

The Pantheon celebrates Marie Curie, the first women to have her ashes laid to rest there for her own merits…

Some of the city’s museums are closed today (and others tomorrow) so we are still awaiting their news, but rest assured everyone will be taking part.

The week continues with a city theme tomorrow (#cityMW), followed by heritage on Wednesday (#heritageMW), profession in museums on Thursday (#professionsMW), children on Friday (#kidsMW), nature on Saturday (#natureMW) and diversity on Sunday (#differenceMW).

Museum Week 2018 is happening all over the Left Bank (and indeed the world) from 23rd-29th April 2018
