A T. rex in Paris exhibition at the Jardin des Plantes, 6th June – 2nd September 2018

Paris is full of dinosaurs right now!

While the Jurassic World exhibition continues at the Cité du Cinéma, and the film Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is poised to be released in cinemas, the Natural History Museum (close to our hotels) invites you to come and meet a Tyrannosaurus rex, undoubtedly the most famous dinosaur on earth.

And it’s a real event – this is the first time ever that a real skeleton (rather than a reproduction) has been put on show for the public in France.

Exposition Un T. Rex à Paris au Jardin des Plantes du 6 juin au 2 septembre 2018

It’s time to meet Trix, a female measuring 12½ metres long, who probably weighed around eight tons during her life.

Trix was found in the USA, remarkably well-preserved with her skull complete and intact, and the exhibition takes a scientific approach which includes showing other skeletons from the museum’s collections, such as the Hadrosaurid, a dinosaur with a duck bill that the T. rex loved to snack on!

The exhibition also explains the daily life and environment of the T. rex 67 million years ago (the end of the Cretaceous era), but also has a modern side.

This means that there is a special area for selfies, and a special hashtag #ExpoTRex that you can use to post your unique, wonderful photo on Instagram and Twitter. ?
