The Emil Bührle collection at the Maillol Museum until 21st July 2019

One of the world’s most prestigious private collections is being presented in Paris at the Maillol Museum, super close to our hotels.

It’s the first (and quite probably the last) time the collection is being exposed in France.

Between 1951 and 1956, Emil Georg Bührle (1890-1956) collected over 600 masterpieces by big name impressionist and post-impressionist painters (Sisley, Renoir, Degas, Pissarro, Monet, Manet, Toulouse-Lautrec, Van Gogh, Gaugin, Cézanne…), as well as works by the Fauvists, Cubists, les Nabis, Modigliani and Picasso.

While their new home – the new extension at the Kunsthaus in Zurich – is being built, part of the collection can be seen at the Maillol Museum, and it may well be your last chance to get a glimpse of it abroad, so don’t miss it.

A smartphone app of the exhibition is available for Android (coming soon for iOS), with a commented visit and certain works in high definition for intense up-close viewing.

There’s also a classic audioguide available in English or French (3€), and a catalogue has just been published by Gallimard (192 pages, 35€ here at amazon.fr).

The Emil Bührle collection is at the Maillol Museum (here) until 21st July 2019

Open every day from 10.30am-6.30pm (8.30pm Fridays)
