This month we’d like you to meet Georges Elie Fall, who prepares and serves breakfast at the Hotel Design Sorbonne. Allow him to explain how he came to work at the hotel…
My name is Georges Elie Fall and I am Spanish, but originally from Senegal.
I arrived in Granada in Spain where my first job – for nearly ten years – was being a DJ. Next, I worked for the city as an intercultural mediator during the olive picking season. I also opened a tapas bar called “Le Petit Dakar”.
After twenty year in Grandad I felt I needed a change, and left everything to go and live in Paris. I’ve now been in France for two years, and started work at the Hotel Design Sorbonne sixteen months ago, looking after the breakfast service.
I’m very lucky to be able to wrok in this hotel, and settled in quickly thanks to the help of my colleagues and managers, who are very professional. I really enjoy the contact I have with the guests every morning..
I don’t regret having left the Alhambra in Granada for Notre-Dame de Paris, because Paris is a cosmopolitan city that I discover more of each day by walking through it and discovering new places. The Latin Quartier is and will always be my favourite neighbourhood though.
Here are some of Georges’ favourite addresses in Paris!
