Pharrell Williams presents A Call To Action exhibition by Mr. at the Guimet Museum until 23rd September 2019
Japanese artist Mr. has a new exhibition called “A Call To Action” in the fourth floor rotunda of the amazing Guimet Museum, under the patronage of multi-talented musician and style icon Pharrell Williams.
If you’re a fan of Pharrell Williams and the kawaii style, this is the summer exhibition for you!
Artist Mr. has collaborated with Pharrell at a distance for five years in order to prepare an unusual mix of installations, paintings and sculptures inspired by current social, political, environmental and technological problems.
In an immersive setting made up of scenes that could be taken from everyday life, you’ll see children in Mr.’s instantly recognisable style, some of them armed, moving through a chaotic world created by adults.
In this environment, where the benign meets the supernatural, the pièce de résistance is a large fresco created by Mr., and although it may sound a little dour, the tone remains optimistic – the artist makes us understand that we have to have faith in the hope that drives children, and that there is still time to create “a better future, a radiant future”.
