Exhibition for the 130th Anniversary of the Eiffel Tower, 28th September – 24th November 2019

Under a huge 300m² dome, this new immersive exhibition beneath the Eiffel Tower, near our hotels, explains (amongst other things) why the Tower has its particular form and how the paint colour was chosen, using augmented reality and other hi-tech, fun technologies…

This is the next event in the celebrations of the Eiffel Tower’s 130-year anniversary – an exhibition unlike any other, housed in a giant dome at street level, below the Tower itself.

The exhibition is proud to use various techniques and technology to offer a surprising, fun experience, including walking on a girder high up on a crane (using hi-def screens on the floor) and testing the tower’s resistance to the wind by blowing on some monitors.

You’ll also be able to travel back in time to the Exposition universelle of 1889, become a painter of the tower (with a technique they’re calling ‘virtual graffiti’), discover why wrought iron was used for the structure…

Oh, and the whole thing is completely free!

Exposition sur les 130 ans de la Tour Eiffel du 28 septembre au 24 novembre 2019

If you enjoy the experience, a new book (in English!) is being published (a little late though – on 25th February 2020), called – The Eiffel Tower – Timeless Monument (192 pages, 34 euros here at amazon.fr).
