This month we’d like you to meet Mariata Kebe, chambermaid at the Hôtel Design Sorbonne. She explains how she came to work at the hotel…
As the oldest child of a large family, I very quickly learned how to look after others.
My first experience of working was in a C.A.T. (Centre d’Aide par le Travail) for the handicapped, as a teacher’s aid. I was there for three years.
Next, I wanted a change of scene, but still in the same context: working with and for others. So, I went to work in a state-owned old people’s home, and then in people’s homes. This experience lasted over twelve years.
Over time I felt the desire to enter a branch of work that has always interested me, but I had never dared try – the hotel trade.
After some short experiences in this domain, I started working at the Hotel Design Sorbonne almost a year ago, where I have been able to increase my skillset and work with a great team.
Here are some of Mariata’s favourite places in Paris! Classics, but unmissable… 😉
