The holiday season festivities don’t just because the 25th has come and gone. For four nights starting 26th December, you can go to Concorde or Bastille and discover their huge outdoor dancefloors, with music and fun from 5.40pm until midnight!
Bastille Day is not the only time you’ll find people dancing outside in Paris – to get you geared up for the NYE festivities, the Paris city council has organised four nights of dancing underneath the stars, at two different places in the city. And entrance is free!
At Bastille, a 450m² dancefloor awaits you, with the fun starting at 5.30pm with activities for kids (and apparently adults too) until 7.30pm, led by les doigts dans la prise.
Then, from 8-9.30pm there’s a different event each night (for example, cabaret by the famous female impersonators of Madame Arthur on 26th December), then from 9.30pm-midnight, show off your best moves while dancing to pop, funk and even ‘Hop pop pop’ ?, with a different DJ each night.
The full line-up for each night can be found here.
At Concorde, the dancefloor is even bigger (500m²) and housed in a transparent tent. Make sure you turn up early, or you’ll probably be left on the pavement.
The night starts at 5.30pm wih a dance class by Stéphane Seya Sabotinov of the ALLin Dance Crew until 8pm, followed by a concert from 8-9.30pm, and then from 9.30pm-midnight there’s a DJ, sometimes even two, and on one night two DJs and a drummer!
A few food trucks will be on hand to help keep your energy up, and the full programme for Concorde can be perused here.
