The Grand Palais moves to the Left Bank

Soon to close for a 466 million euro facelift to be completed in 2025, the Grand Palais is moving into a grand temporary building specially created on the Champs-de-Mars near the Eiffel Tower, and not far from our hotels

Due to open in March 202, the Grand Palais Éphémère (or Temporary Grand Palais) is entering its final stage of works. The 20-metre high building spans 10.000m2 and will host exhibitions, trade fairs and fashions shows while the right bank Grand Palais is restored ready for the Olympic Games.

The nouveau building has cost 40 million euros, and is proud to be ecologically-sound, with a main structure made of wood that will be relocated for use elsewhere once it is no longer needed.

This is where you’ll be able to see the Saut Hermès, attend the FIAC and – of course – see the high-profile exhibitions that the Grand Palais is known for.

A lot of cultural spaces are opening or reopening in Paris this year – the Bourse du Commerce, the Hôtel de la Marine, the Carnavalet Museum… We’ll be telling a lot more about them very soon!

The Grand Palais Éphémère (here) will open in March 2021
