Rendez-vous aux Jardins garden festival until 6th June 2021

Surprisingly just two weeks after the Nature Festival, it’s time to go back to our city’s beautiful gardens for some more fresh air and special events! With the Jardin de Plantes and other amazing green spaces not far from our hotels, there are some interesting propositions…

Organised by the Ministry of Culture, Rendez-vous aux Jardins is celebrating its 18th edition this year, and the chosen theme for 2021 is “Passing on the knowledge”, with several interesting events planned on our lovely side of the Seine.

For example, the Jardin du monde in the 14th arrondissement is a ‘collective, participative garden with an instructive and ecological aim’. They are participating in Rendez-vous aux Jardins for the first time and are offering a guided tour of the space, and (why not) and introduction ‘the arts of the circus’! More info here.

Close by, the 34 eco-managed hectares of the park at the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris would like you to join them for a guided visit of the Gardens of the World in Movement on Saturday 5th June at 3pm, with five artistic installations on the theme of urban nature and sustainable development.

Elsewhere, the Rodin Museum has guided tours of its gorgeous garden on offer, plus a drawing workshop, and just a five-minute walk away the Hôtel de Matignon is opening its large gardens to the public, a rare occasion, so make the most of it!

In the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of our favourite museums – the Delacroix Museum – is sharing the secrets of its garden, where there’s a temporary exhibition of works by British artist William Mackrell. More info here.

Go to the BNF (the French National Library) and you’ll be allowed to enter the interior garden (which only happens twice a year). The event is on Saturday 5th June between 11am and 5pm. Click here for more information.

And let’s not forget the venerable Jardin des Plantes which is organising a live show called Sculpter le Vivant (alas, sold out 😥), but you can still discover the alpine garden, botanical school rose garden and all the eleven gardens that make up this incredible place.

Of course, there’s even more to see and experience if you cross the river, so click here for the full Paris programme!
