Free exhibition Togeth’her at the Monnaie de Paris until 4th July 2021

To celebrate its 40th anniversary, posh women’s publication Madame Figaro has asked 26 artists to paint a woman they admire as if she were on the front page of the magazine.

These paintings, together with explanations from the artists, form a free exhibition – Togeth’her – that you can see at la Monnaie de Paris not far from our hotels, or online with a virtual visit in 3D!

The exhibition allows the artists to explain why they chose their subject and what they mean to them.

The original work is donated by the artist and put up for online auction from 30th June – 6th July by respected auction house Artcurial, with proceeds going to a charity of the artist’s choice. Prints of each work, in a limited edition of 20-100 copies, can also be purchased here on the event’s website.

If you can’t be in Paris to see the exhibition yourself, the virtual edition is also quite well done. Just click the ‘play’ button on the image below (and perhaps the fullscreen button you’ll see bottom right after that) then click the circles to move around the exhibition and get more info on each painting.

The catalogue for the exhibition also has a lot of information about each piece and each artist. A paper version is available to buy or consult online.

Just click the middle of the image below to start reading.

The exhibition is free, and La Monnaie is a place that has to be seen to be believed. It’s also not far from our hotels! Lots of great reasons to go take a look!

The exhibition Artistes à la Une, Togeth’Her is at the Monnaie de Paris (here) until 4th July 2021
