After Mugler at the MAD and Gaultier at the Cinémathèque, here’s yet another fashion-orientated Paris exhibition, this time at the Palais Galliera, celebrating 100 years of the magazine Vogue Paris, with over 400 exhibits taken from their archives…

If you like photography and fashion, this is definitely the exhibition for you.

For a hundred years now, Vogue Paris has been featuring the best fashion designers and fashion photography from all over the planet, as well as paying homage to literary icons such as Simone de Beauvoir, Jean Cocteau and Françoise Sagan.

The magazine has become the reference in its field, going way beyond just reporting on fashion – it now inspires future fashion, finds new designers and helps maintain the effervescence of the French fashion scene.

The exhibition shows the different eras of the magazine, how it changed depending on the context (the war, for example) and the editors, how featuring the culture of Paris helped give the magazine its own personality, how the creativity of photographers helped it remain unique, how Vogue Paris evolved in the digital era…

You’ll also be able to see some special sections dedicated to certain designers, models and stars who made their mark on the magazine – Yves Saint Laurent, Catherine Deneuve, Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Moss…

In addition to the guided visits and kids’ workshops available, the exhibition is the perfect time to publish a new book about Vogue Paris. Something to sit in a comfortable sofa with and perfuse at your leisure (324 pages, 300 illustrations, 49€ here at amazon.fr).
