The Christmas illuminations on the Champs-Élysées from 21st November 2021 – 9th January 2022

The Christmas illuminations are back on the Champs-Élysées (last year they weren’t turned on), and French singer Clara Luciani will be pressing the ‘on’ button on 21st November at 6pm…

For the inauguration on Sunday 21st November, the Champs-Élysées will be pedestrianised and the sponsor / godmother for this year, Clara Luciani, will be accomanied by Paris mayor Anne Hidalgo, Marc-Antoine Jamet from the Comité Champs-Élysées as well as two children elected by the charity Les Petits Princes which helps make sick children’s dreams come true.

The illuminations have a name – Flamboyance – and have been created once again by Blachère Illumination with LED+ ultra-low consumption bulbs. They are also sponsored by Ferrero Rocher for the third year running.

Running from 21st November until 9th January 2022, the illuminations are on every night from 5pm until 2am, and for Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, they’ll be on all night!

In total, along the avenue itself and its continuation down to place de la Concorde, 400 trees are covered in fairy lights!

If you’re going to see this magical sight for the first time, we could suggest starting at place de la Concorde (here) and walking up towards the Arc de Triomphe. This will give you the best view from afar, and it will only take around ten minutes before you are surrounded by twinkly, coloured loveliness! This is a great way to see the most beautiful avenue in the world, so don’t miss it!
