The new exhibition at the gallery of the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette shows the amusing drawings of Sarah Lefèvre, or rather her character, Maggie de Montmartre…

With a French father and Indo-Mauritian mother, Lefèvre grew up in the suburbs of Paris. Curious to discover the world, she left to voyage as early as she could, taking her pencil case full of colours to the USA, Canada, South Korea…

At the age of 25 she created the Maggie de Montmartre character, a way for her to express her sense of humour and sometimes off-kilter ideas. Through Maggie, Lefèvre felt freer to talk about the intimate details of her life, her crazy thoughts, her desires as a woman, her childhood dreams…

Maggie is an amusing and active woman full of energy, and this year, in addition to the exhibition dedicated to her at the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette she will also become the star of a comic book, with a story highlighting the notable characters in her neighbourhood – the divorced grocer, the melancholic singer, the feminist barmaid…

To celebrate the opening of the exhibition at the Belle Juliette on 24^th February at 7pm, you can attend the launch party which includes a Mauritian buffet mauricien and probably some delicious wine from Château du Campuget! (Please drink responsibly)
