The 2022 Nature Festival Paris, until 22nd May

The return of the warm weather means it must be time for La Fête de la Nature (the Nature Festival), with a dozen sites taking part near out hotels.

Here’s what nature has to offer you (for free!) on the Left Bank…

Organised each year around the International Day for Biological Diversity (on 22nd May), La Fête de la Nature spotlights the importance of nature and its preservation.

On the Left Bank, near our hotels we are lucky enough to have the incredible Jardin des Plantes nearby, where important natural conservation work is performed. For this, the 16th edition the the FDLN, the venue is offering you the chance to discover spiders, tour the beehives, take part in a ‘biodiversity rally’…

There are also storytimes for kids, a Nature Village, cine-concert and more.

The full programme for the Jardin des Plantes (PDF) can be consulted here.

Elsewhere, the Young Deaf Institute has a biodiversity trail to follow in its large garden (more info here) with an online version available here, and the Jardin du Luxembourg is offering a walk to discover the its beautiful trees (more info here).

Near the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette there’s a nature-themed treasure hunt in the Catherine Labouré Garden, organised by CPN Val de Seine, and near the Javel RER station you can discover a community garden and taste some products made with the plants that grow there! More info here.

And if that’s not enough, you can discover the Jardin de l’Atlantique which covers the train track leaving Montparnasse station (info here), explore the Florimont garden which has wheat, sparrows and a seed library (info here), or go and discover part of the petite ceinture (a former railway line that circled Paris) in the 13th arrondissement (info ici). They are also offering a tasting session of herbal teas made with plants from the area.

A lot going on then! For the interactive map and more information about the event itself, check out the official website, fetedelanature.com.
