Organised in partnership with the town hall of the 5th arrondissement (situated just next to the Hotel les Dames du Panthéon and the Hotel des Grands Hommes on place du Panthéon), and sponsored by French author Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt, the Festival Quartier du Livre (literally, Book Area Festival) has more than 200 literary events on offer throughout the neighbourhood…

Left Bank literature fans, if you speak French you have a busy week ahead of you! The Festival Quartier du Livre is back with a large number of interesting events on offer.

For example, the bookshop Librairie Pedone on rue Soufflot will be the venue for a pop-up bookstore where you can not only meet authors, but also take part in debates, attend book signings and conferences…

Also on offer are thrity-eight “Family” events – workshops, a discovery walk at the National Library, an introduction to braille, a board game session based on wordplay, storytelling sessions, a second had book sale, a Ghibli choir night, book signings, a harp concert, a treasure trail…

There are also twenty-six “In-bookshop” events (details here), nineteen literary walks (“In the step of Hemingway”, “Ghosts of the Pantheon”, “A song and tango walk around rue Mouffetard”… Information here), and twelve exhibitions are associated with the Festival (more info here).
