New display for the collections at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum

After an inaugural presentation for its opening, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum (that we visited for the blog) is changing its layout (as promised) with fifty haute couture pieces brought together for the first ever time.

The new presentation puts a particular spotlight on two of Saint Laurent’s iconic creations: the famous Mondrian dresses from 1965 and those designed together with artist Claude Lalanne in 1969 (fifty years ago!).

The latter included two models with moulded bustiers, mixing sculpture and fashion. The collaboration with Lalanne was such a success that she continued to create jewellery for YSL until 1983.

The new presentation covers the whole museum, with – for the first time – a section looking specifically at runway photography, illustrated by the work of Claus Ohm.

The museum is one of our faves, and well worth your time. If you want to see the photos of our bisit last spring, simply click here.

The new display of the collections at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum (here) is in place until 31st December 2019

Open every day except Mondays from 11am-6pm (9pm Fridays)
