The 2019 Music Festival near our hotels!

It’s one of the craziest nights of the year in Paris – la Fête de la Musique (the annual, one-night music festival) is back with groups on every street corner and (hopefully) loads of happy people!

Here are a few ideas of what you could do close to our hotels.

First of all, you should know that the official site does not have every single event listed (a lot of them are spontaneous affairs), but there’s still an awful lot to choose from. As soon as you leave your hotel, you’ll almost certainly be welcomed by the sound of music.

It looks like there are around 200 listed events just for the Left Bank near our hotels, so let’s take a look, starting with the area near the Hotel des Grands Hommes and the Hotel les Dames du Panthéon

You might like to see:

some rock along the railing of the Pantheon (also happening Saturday 22nd June apparently),

— a group of ten singers and instrumentalists at the Sainte-Geneviève Library with medieval music on the theme of the solstice (yep, it’s the longest day of the year today!),

— pop, just behind the Pantheon with So Sage & Zouille,

— blues (and classical music) at the Curie Museum,

— a big Irish evening at the Irish Cultural Centre, with Joshua Burnside and others…

Here’s the map of the area, with everything that’s going on (or click here to open it bigger on a new page).

Near the Hotel Design Sorbonne there’s:

— rock by Space Pony on the place de la Sorbonne,

— a reggae night at wine shop Les Domaines Qui Montent,

Three groups (Skacahuètes + Pépin et ses Pommettes + Campo Libre) in front of 65 boulevard Saint-Germain,

— electronic music with CleMShy,

— rock / pop / folk / soul from Nell at the Petit Cluny,

— organ music at the Saint-Séverin church

Here’s the map of the area, with everything that’s going on (or click here to open it bigger on a new page).

Now let’s take a look at what’s on around the Hotel Baume. There’s:

a night of electronic music on place de l’Odéon,

— a concert of opera, Italian songs, pop, rock, French classics and more at the Il Suppli restaurant

three groups (Ira Mundi + Mat B & The Groovy Moles + Why Crocodile Why?) outside the Odéon métro station from 7pm until 1am

music with a political message on place Saint-Michel (probably more fun than it sounds),

— female choir Sono Solo Canzonette at the Italian Cultural Centre

Here’s the map of the area, with everything that’s going on (or click here to open it bigger on a new page).

And near the Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette there’s:

Vêpres de la Vierge de Venise à Versailles (try saying that quickly three times) at the Chapelle des Sœurs Auxiliatrices, ?

— jazz at Apeti,

the Inaiki choir at 29 rue Saint-Placide,

— world music / classical / rock / gospel / lounge with steel drums, percussion and other instruments at the corner of rue Velpeau and rue de Sèvres,

— an Awesome Party (hip-hop / electronic) on the place de Breteuil (line-up here)…

Here’s the map of the area, with everything that’s going on (or click here to open it bigger on a new page).

By the way, don’t worry about drinking too much and getting home safely – part of the métro system (and trains, and buses) will be running all night. Full details are here!

Have a great fête de la musique !
