Charlotte Perriand photo exhibition at the Académie des Beaux-Arts, 13th February – 22nd March 2020

French architect and designer Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999) is the focus of the new exhibition at the Académie des Beaux-Arts, very close to our hotels, with 48 of her rarely-seen, stunning photos on display.

And it’s free!

While one Charlotte Perriand exhibition is on the point of closing at the Vuitton Foundation, another opens in our neighbourhood, with photos chosen by none other than Lélia Deluiz Wanick Salgado, photographer, co-founder of the Instituto Terra, and wife of Sabastião Salgado, who also has an exhibition in Paris at the moment.

Perriand’s work often show what she called ‘art brut‘, a description that covered both industrial constructions and natural objects such as mountains.

Perriand’s works are now managed by her daughter Pernette Perriand-Barsac and her son Jacques Barsac, and the chances to see them are few and far between.

With the Vuitton exhibition closing, you have an extra few weeks to see these magnificent prints, and admission is free. Get down there!
