LEGO® exhibition To the moon and beyond at the Air and Space Museum until 28th May 2022

At the incredible Air and Space Museum in Le Bourget (just outside the city limits and reachable by public transport), this new exhibition examines aviation exploits and the conquest of space using…LEGO® bricks!

And it’s not the only LEGO® exhibition in the Paris area right now…

Exposition LEGO® Vers la Lune et au-delà au Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace jusqu'au 29 mai 2022

Have you ever been to an exhibition made of 18,000 LEGO® bricks that took 1,200 hours to put together? Neither have we…

So perhaps it’s worth making a visit to Le Bourget (in the nearby suburbs), to the Musée de l’Air et de l’Espace, housed in a magnificent art deco 1920s building that was originally Paris’ first ever airport. We first showed it to you in our article here.

The exhibition is divided into three main sections: the story of aviation and space travel, man on the moon and fictional representations of both.

Using the famous little bricks to illustrate each theme, with a total of nearly thirty sculptures (some full size), you’ll see Le Petit Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry, Concorde, the Saturn V rocket from the Apollo missions, a portrait of Jules Verne…

The exhibition is backed up by six different workshops for kids – construction a fresco, a pixel art wall, making a rocket ship to take home with you…

All the details are here.

And if one LEGO® exhibition isn’t enough for you, there’s a second one to visit until 13th February, again just outside of Paris city limits, in Reuil-Malmaison!

Using the little plastic bricks to engage kids is a great tactic, and it’s used here to recount the life of Napoleon Bonaparte, also known in French as La légende de l’Aigle. Don’t think that it’s a lightweight presentation though – the exhibition is supported by the Napoleon Foundation, and the kids can reinforce their learning with a quiz and game at the end.
