Rendez-vous aux Jardins garden festival until 4th June 2023

This weekend marks the 20th edition of the national (and European) garden festival Rendez-vous aux Jardins, with certain private gardens open specially for the event, and lot of other activities on offer.

Let’s take a look at what’s happening near our hotels

Rendez-vous aux Jardins jusqu'au 4 juin 2023

The forecast is promising sun and warmth this week-end, perfect for Rendez-vous aux Jardins and discovering some beautiful gardens close to our hotels.

You might like to try a guided visit of the Jardin du Luxembourg, or enjoy the concert being held in the gardens of the nearby Zadkine Museum (Sunday at 3pm).

The Andrée Chedid Library (not far from the Eiffel Tower) is participating for the first time this year, launching their seed library where everyone is encouraged to bring and swap seeds and seedlings. You’ll also be able to peruse a selection of garden-themed books and CDs.

In the gardens of the newly-restored Bourdelle Museum there are two workshops for kids and a talk with Philippe Cognée and French writer Marie Darrieussecq, the gardens of the Hôtel de Matignon (the prime minister’s residence) are open for visits, as is the garden of the Hôtel de Roquelaure (the Ecology and Solidarity Ministry).

And the gorgeous gardens of the Rodin Museum are offering tours to discover the garden’s sculptures, plus two workshops, one about land art and the other for drawing.

The Delacroix Museum will be teaching you origami in the garden, and the Cité internationale universitaire de Paris has guided visits on offer so you can discover the six contemporary creations specially made for the festival Jardins du monde en mouvement, which continues until 3rd November.

And at the BNF (National Library), not only can you stroll through the usually-closed garden/forest (walks start on Saturday at 11am, midday, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm, and Sunday at 2pm, 3pm and 4pm), but there is also the 6th edition of their festival celebrating reading out loud, called La Bibliothèque Parlante, and this year’s theme is nature!

More info (in French) and a proposed booklist can be found here.
