The museums in Paris are optimistic about being able to reopen soon, and the Quai Branly Museum<\/a>, not far from our hotels<\/a>, is preparing their new exhibition Africa Reborn, looking at African aesthetics in contemporary arts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The past informs the present, art inspires art… but while the West has appreciated African art for its plays on form, it’s only recently that it has attempted to understand the inherent significations and symbols.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This new exhibition examines the links between 21st century creation and ancient African arts, mixing ORLAN and Basquiat with brand new creations that ask the question – to what extent are the ‘classic’ African arts present and active in contemporary creation?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
