If you’re considering coming to Paris for Easter this year, remember that the HPRG collection<\/a> of hotels loves having families as guests!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We offer rooms big enough for couples with one or two children (for example, at the Hotel Saint-Andr\u00e9 des Arts<\/a> and Hotel & Spa la Belle Juliette<\/a>), or if you prefer the kids to be close by but not in the same room, we can arrange rooms next to each other, sometimes even communicating rooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But once you have your accommodation booked, what is there to do in Paris for families over Easter? Well, we have a few ideas – chocolate egg hunts and a lot more…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let’s start with what the museums near our hotels<\/a> have on offer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Mus\u00e9e d’Orsay<\/a> there are guided visits (in French of course) of the exhibition F\u00eates, loisirs et spectacles<\/a>, workshops for kids of various ages (de 3-5, 6-8, 9-12…), and a ‘danced’ visit<\/a> that even English-speaking kids will probably enjoy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the info for the Easter 2024 weekend at the Mus\u00e9e d’Orsay can be found here<\/a>. Just one thing – the museum will be closed Easter Monday (1st April).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Quai Branly Museum, which is usually closed on a Monday, will however be specially open<\/strong> on Easter Monday!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the two temporary exhibitions<\/a> currently on offer, there a Secret Marionettes<\/a> workshop (3-5 year-olds), a storytim visit for kids 0-3 years old called Maman serpent<\/a>, a guided visit of the “Shamanic Visions” exhibition<\/a> (for 12 year-olds +), a Archeology workshop<\/a> (9 yea-old and +)…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the Rodin Museum has a special “Family Sundays” guided visit<\/a> of the permanent collection available. Don’t forget to book your spot here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What can you do though if your children don’t speak enough French or don’t like museums? Well, rest assured there’s a lot more on offer in Paris over Easter weekend!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For example, why not go and check out Deyrolle<\/a>, an incredible cabinet of curiosities not far from our hotels<\/a>, with stuffed animals, preserved butterflies and a great bookshop full of interesting stuff!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Entrance is free, and it’s one of Paris’ few lesser-known marvels (we visited it a while ago for the blog – read our article here<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to try a traditional French chocolate egg hunt, we suggest going to the Andr\u00e9-Citro\u00ebn Park on the Sunday or Monday, as it’s there that the Secours Populaire<\/a> charity organises their annual event (although be warned, apparently there are “several thousands of children and their parents” \ud83d\ude32)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kids buy an ‘egg-hunting permit’ for a few euros and are then let loose to hunt for eggs. There are also other activities on offer, and the possibility of discovering the charity’s work in France.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And our last proposition will please the entire family, even if it is a little further afield! It’s the Foire du Tr\u00f4ne<\/a> funfair in the Bois de Vincennes to the east of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With dozens of funfair attractions and rides, it’s open for almost a month (23rd March – 21st April 2024) from midday every day (2pm 1st April) and closes at 11pm (or 1am on Fridays, Saturdays and the nights before public holidays!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
