Very clearly a promotional excuse to raise the profile of their women’s clothes brand, Fornarina are putting on a special – free – event that mixes fashion, music and art. A ‘happening’ I suppose you could call it…


After Barcelona, Milan and Rome, Paris is the next venue for the pompously-named Fornarina Urban Beauty Show.

Being held at the Carrousel du Louvre (199 rue de Rivoli) on 12th May 2008 from 7pm to midnight, and free for all, you’ll be able to see/experience/feel work by artists such as:

– Dominique Donois, and her installation called Laika’s Planet, “a fun and poetic cosmic rendezvous between Laika – the famous space dog – two fascinating cosmonauts and two funny aliensvon the Little Prince’s asteroid B612
– Angelique Houtkamp, and her “pop old school” salon “dense with mystery and awe” (that also happens to showcase Fornarina fashion designs)
– Glenn Barr‘s Old World Meets The Future, a merry-go-round that blends timeless imagery with mysterious, alluring dreamy realities.” (what?)
– Junko Mizuno‘s My Sweet Octopus, where “the gestural reality of sushi preparation becomes a colourful and outrageous happy hour.”
– Moebius and his Temple of Love installation, a mysterious temple where the paradigm of seduction takes an unexpected shape.”

But that’s not all! A line-up of trendy DJs has also been shipped in, including Aurore Leblanc, New Young Pony Club and the guys from Simian Mobile Disco ! You’ll be able to dance the night away! Erm, until midnight that is… Could be fun event though, and it’s free! Come on already!
