French choreographer Josef Nadj presents a series of cyanotypes (a process used before modern photography existed) at the Collège des Bernardins, just minutes from our hotels, and will be in conversation with writer and poet Jean-Christophe Bailly at 7pm on 20th July for the public opening.

After a two-month presentation in Orléans, the beautiful (but unpronounceable) exhibition Inhancutilitatem by Josef Nadj arrives in Paris, exploraing the little-know world of cyanotypes.

These blueish ‘photos’ have not been common for over a century, as modern photographic techniques overtook them. The exhibition is a both a return to this old style and a return to nature, with many grasses and leaves as subjects.

The multi-talented Nadj is actually quite busy this summer in Paris – his show “Petit psaume du matin” is also being presented at the Irish Cultural Centre as part of the Paris quartier d’été festival.
