Invader, Hello my game is… exhibition
at the Musée de l’Herbe
26th January – 3rd September 2017

If you keep an eye out during your time in Paris, you’ll no doubt see a lot of retro mosaic street art on buildings (just look up a little) in the form of Space Invaders and other video game characters.

This is the work of French street artist Invader, and now the le Musée en Herbe is holding his first Paris exhibition since 2011, with over a hundred pieces of work that have never been on show before!

Here’s all the info.

The world of Invader is definitely stuck in the eighties, a time when the first videogames were coming out, Rubik’s Cubes were all the rage and street art itself was just starting, thanks to graffiti artists in New York.

Invader takes all these influences and mixes them up – a classic vinyl cover from back in the day is reproduced in Rubik’s Cubes, characters from videogames are subtly modified…

Expect arcade games,  a big interactive map of the world and a wall of magnets. A fun exhibition for kids aged 3 to 103!

And talking of kids, a book has just been published to accompany the exhibition (50 pages, 11.95€ here at amazon.fr). There are a few pages you can check out here.
