Paris Beer Week until 16th June 2019

They say a good craft beer has just as refined and complex a taste as a good glass of wine. Who says? Why, the Paris Beer Week of course! Back for its sixth edition, with numerous events around town (including quite a few close to our hotels), this is the moment to discover some interesting micro-breweries and taste some smashing beer!

The Paris Beer Week proves that artisanal brewing is the latest big thing, with micro-brasseries popping up all around our beautiful city.

To help you discover the perfect beer for you, and exactly what goes into making it, there are lots of events being held over the week, and many of them are super close to our hotels (check out the map at the bottom of this article, and you’ll see).

For example, at Plan B (here), an artisanal beer bar with ten different draught beers that change every week, Canadian brewery Dieu du Ciel is doing a tap takeover and showing off ten of its beers on Thursday 13th June from 5.30pm until 2am. More info here.

La Robe et la Mousse (here), an ethical bar specialising in artisanal French beer (18 taps) as well as natural wines, is holding a ‘Battle: Azimut vs. Basqueland‘, with beers from these two breweries from the southwest (Bordeaux and San Sebastien) gong head to head. This ‘rumble in the urban jungle’ will be going down on Friday 14th June from 4pm-2am, and there’s more info here.

The Ker Beer bar (here), a cooperative specialised in artisanal beers from Brittany, has fifteen beers available on tap and fifty more in bottles. On 12th June from 7-11pm they are holding a tasting evening with a difference: Accords Bières et Beurres, otherwise known as how to pair beers and butter – butter with seaweed, butter with smoked salt, butter with buckwheat… More info here.

There’s also a conference in the bar on 14th June at 6.30pm, entitled La filière bières bretonnes c’est quoi ? (all about Brittany beers), followed by a tasting session of beers from Brittany-based breweries Nautile and Aerofab. More info here.

At the Bonjour Brasserie (here, in an ephemeral space called Les Grands Voisins) there’s a special evening on 12th June from 6pm-midnight with DJs, live music and a tap takeover. More info here.

Sylki (here), a polyfermentation workshop, is offering a session to help you get to know the wonders (and many uses) of Kombucha (a symbiosis of yeast and bacteria) on Wednesday 12th June from 6-8pm. More info here.

They are also organising another workshop – a Fermentation Bonanza about kefir – on Thursday 13th June from 6-8pm (note that the venue is here at Biérocratie). You can taste Sylki beer while you listen, and even take your preparations home with you! More info here.

For example, the Grand Final at the end of the week (15th & 16th June, tickets here) at the 104 arts space (here) offers over 250 beers to taste, conferences, workshops, DJs, concerts, an after-party on Saturday night and draught beer at 1.50€ (or even free at some events!)
