The english-language version of Jacques Tati’s "Mon Oncle" will be released in France for the first time on July 6th. (Don’t Forget!)

Tati filmed two versions of the film,

one of which won an Oscar in 1959. If you have never seen this film, it’s a must-see!
And other Jacques Tati events are planned this year, such as an exhibition at the Palais de Tokyo (September) including the model of the Arpel house from the film.
Special limited edition reproductions of furniture form the house (and the fountain?) will be produced, initially for museums, and then for the public. We want the kitchen!

P.S. Criterion is also planning a new DVD edition of Tati’s Playtime this year, despite a restored version being release a couple of years ago. Wonder what’s new?…
