au moment x, a photo exhibition by Evangelia Kranioti

Born in Greece but now living in Paris, Evangelia’s new exhibition shows her stunningly poetic photos and strangely surreal texts…

Evangelia Kranioti came to Paris in 2001 as part of the Erasmus exchange program, and after studying at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, she became an artist in residence at the Cité Internationale Universitaire.

au moment x is a collection of photos taken from her travels between 2003 and 2007, with out any real current theme except for a certain tender, poetic quality and colours that remind one of faded memories. Each photo is accompanied by an “exquisite corpse”, a piece of text written by two people in turn, each of them not knowing what the other has written. This gives slightly surreal, or funny, texts, such as this one that gave the exhibition its name:

“At the moment X, a multilingual woman is equal to her long hair”

The exhibition is in a sweet little gallery not far from the Eiffel Tower called La Galerie Premier Regard. They are open every day except Sundays and Mondays, from 1pm to 6.30pm (Saturday opening at 2pm). Exhibition ends 30th November. We think you should check it out!
