The Paris Salon du Chocolat at the Porte de Versailles – 29th October – 2nd November 2008

Like chocolate? Or LOVE chocolate? Either way, you’ll adore this show… 🙂

It’s the 14th year for the Salon du Chocolat, a festival of slobbering for chocolate fans with its 400 stalls of temptation!

This year’s edition is especially tasty, with emphasis put on the relationship between chocolate and fashion, wine and coffee.

And the the number 14 seems to have special meaning for them too. It’s the fourteenth salon, 14th February is when everyone gives chocolate for Valentine’s Day, the 14th July is Bastille Day when Louis XIV celebrated with fountains of chocolate, and White Day in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, when women offer chocolates to their friends, husbands and colleagues is on the 14th March. Also, as of next year the Salon du Chocolat will be held in 14 different countries and will change its name, becoming the Mondial du Chocolat.

For the first time this year, Switzerland and Italy will be the guests of honour. Look out for their specialities! And certain countries will be present for the first time, such as Brazil, Gabon, Venezuela, São Tomé and Príncipe, Madagascar and Mexico. Looks like tasting everything will be a pretty tough job (but someone’s gotta do it).
