Paul Klee retrospective at the Pompidou Centre

Nearly fifty years after the last big French retrospective, the Pompidou Centre has gathered 230 works by Paul Klee for a comprehensive view of his work. Not to be missed!

Here’s all the info.

Exposition Paul Klee, l'ironie à l'œuvre au Centre Pompidou du 6 avril au 1 août 2016
Zentrum Paul Klee, Berne

It’s rare to see so much of Klee’s work in one place at one time. This new exhibition lets visitors see how the artist used irony inspired by early German romanticism.

Organised into seven themed sections, the exhibition shows every evolution in his work:

– “Satirical beginnings”
– “Klee and Cubism”
– “Mechanical theatre” (in line with Dada and Surrealism)
– “Klee and Constructivisms”
– “Looking back” (the 1930s)
– “Klee and Picasso”
– “The crisis years» (marked by Nazi policies, war and illness)”

Together with the numerous paintings, you’ll also see the artist’s sculptures and drawings.
