After studying literature, I changed directions and went into tourism, first as a receptionist and then as a business travel advisor in the group sector of Carlson Wagons Lits.

Then I decided to go back to my first love – the hotel trade – because I missed interacting with guests. I applied for a job at the Hôtel des Grands Hommes as a receptionist, then I moved up to a job as general housekeeper, encouraged and aided by the hotel manager Marie-José Hery.

It’s a profession that I discovered, where I can express myself completely, and I do everything possible so that guests leave with a good memory of their stay at the Hôtel des Grands Hommes.

I’m very lucky to be able to work in such a great environment, and I never get tired of the hotel’s interior design.

I remember back when I was a student, I often come to study at the Saint-Genevieve library. I could never have imagined that years later I would work on the place du Panthéon.

Valérie loves the area around the hotel, where she loves to shop or just explore. Here are some of her favourites.

They are the fine cake shop belonging to Sébastien Degardin, the JAC DES marques outlet store, the interior design store Potiron and the jewellery maker Gaetano.
