Marianne Thibaut, the manager of the Spa at Hotel la Belle Juliette explains how she came to work at the hotel and reveals her favourite places nearby!

My journey to the Belle Juliette has been an unusual one, as I didn’t initially study to be a beauty practitioner. I initially studied economics, followed by a BTS (a diploma of higher education) in communication, during which I did work experience at local radio stations and companies specialise din event planning.

I felt that there wasn’t enough direct contact with customers in this area, and I knew that I wanted to take care of people, bring them an instant of happiness, and this is how I came to imagine a career in beauty care.

I studied as a spa practitioner, got my diploma, and gained experience during my studies in by working at the spa of a luxury hotel in Paris. At the end of my apprenticeship, I found a post as a spa practitioner at a 5-star hotel.

This allowed me to discover the world of the luxury hotel business, and I really love it, especially how the contact with clients is valued. It was a very enriching experience which involved the opening of the spa, but it came to an end with the onset of Covid-19.

I was able to find another post as a practitioner in a high end urban spa, but really wanted to return to the hotel trade, and that’s how I arrived at la Belle Juliette in August 2021, a Spa Manager.

What I love about my work is the relationship of trust that you can build with clients. I love doing beauty treatments and giving my clients advice for products and daily beauty tips.
