Illustrator Marie-Laure Cruschi – aka Cruschiform – is the author of numerous books, and now has around fifty of her very sleek images on show at Gallimard’s quirky bookshop / gallery close to our hotels.

And it’s free!

The images on show mostly come from two books that Cruschiform has published with Gallimard, Colorama and Seeds (the latter of which will be published in English in September), together with a few images commissioned by big companies, all of which have nature as their theme.

The work spans twelve year of illustrating, and will let you appreciate the artist’s colourful and very personal style. We think it has a kind of 50s Disney vibe to it…

After having lived in Paris for quite a long time, it may be the author’s return to the countryside (the lush and picturesque Cévennes region of France here) that has inspired a lot of her recent work. Now, she apparently loves marvelling at nature and gardening, and we think it shows in the images she creates!
