The National Garden Festival, 6th-8th June 2025

Back for its 22nd edition (and curiously with 22 events in Paris!), Rendez-vous aux Jardins (The National Garden festival) invites you to visit some lesser-known green spaces nearby (and close to our hotels) holding free special events!

Let’s take a look at the programme for the Left Bank…

The theme for these year’s event is Jardins de pierres, pierres de jardins (Gardens of stone, stones of gardens), celebrating stone structures, ramshackle cemeteries, the symbolic use of stone…

Near us, as usual, there’s a lot on offer:

— a visit of a dye garden in the 13th arrondissement on Saturday 7th June from 2)3.30pm, with a dyeing demonstration,

Welcoming the wild, a workshop by a collective of artists in the garden of La Générale on 6th/7th June, followed by an exhibition of the results and workshops open to the public on Sunday 8th from 10am-8pm,

— a visit of the Rosalie gardens and a charity market on Saturday 7th June from midday til 6pm. Apparently there will even be a cocktail bar and tapas!

Many museums near our hotels are participating in the event:

the Museum of 3D maps (part of the Army Museum) has visits to allow you to discover the place, and a workshop for families,

— in the gardens of the Quai Branly Museum, Saturday at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm, you can visit the ‘Artist garden’ and the next day the Fanfaraï brass band will be performing at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm as part of the museum’s Journées Solidaires event,

— in the garden of the Zadkine Museum there will be concerts on Saturday between 2.0 and 5pm, and a watercolour visit-workshop for families on Sunday between 10.15am and 4pm.

— at the Delacroix Museum, it’s the strict minimum : a repotting workshop on Saturday only, from 10am-midday,

— however the Bourdelle Museum (whose garden is wonderful) has gone above and beyond, with workshops, visits, a concert… You’ll find all the info ici.

And just a couple more ideas for Left Bank activities!

The garden of the Hotel de Matignon (a government ministry with 2 hectares behind it!) will be open all weekend from 10am-6pm (but you have to sign up online here), offering a demonstration of stone carving, a treasure hunt, a tasting session of the honey they produce on-site…

— and on the Champ-de-Mars near the Eiffel Tower, you can attend a guided visit of the Human Rights Monument conducted by the architect who created it, Michel Jantzen. The visit is limited to 50 people, it’s on Saturday at 10°am and you can sign up here.
