Coming back from Paris’ famous l’Olympia concert hall the other night, we went past the Cafe de la Paix, reminding us that we absolutely must go there for afternoon tea sometime soon…

It’s extremely expensive, but with a bit of luck we’ll have a view of the Opera house.

Then today we came across an item of news about fashion designer Gaspard Yurkievich. He has just designed a chocolate cake, if you can believe that, for the Cafe de la Paix, with a touch of raspberry and a hint of ginger. Inside the cake is hidden a little porcelain letter (part of his name, and something to take away with you to remind you of the experience) and the whole thing is capped by a chocolate, er, shoe.

Available only from 1st March to 16th September, this fashionable dessert will cost you 15 euros.
