Exhibition French Touch. Graphics arts / video / techno at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs until 31st March 2013

Nearly 20 years ago, before the term ‘French touch’ was coined, French music was inexistant outside France – apart from a few songs… but once the ‘French touch’ was born, French sounds and graphics came to the attention of the world, with a bang!…It is 1994. Joe Le Taxi is forgotten and Daft Punk, Cassius, Stardust and Dimitri From Paris take over. Suddenly, French music isn’t rubbish any more – it’s hip! And things were never to be the same again…

This exhibition shows was a fertile period the nineties were for the French scene, with iconic record sleeves, iconic flyers for iconic club nights, and videos for the biggest songs…

To further explore the exhibition, you can go on a guided tour, see the exhibition one evening accompanied by Djs mixing, there are conferneces, workshops for kids, and a catalogue in French (208 pages, 390 illustrations, 40€) available here on amazon.fr.

And even without leaving the house, travel back in time to the French Touch era with Radio French Touch on Deezer! The exhibition French Touch. Graphics arts / video / techno is at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs (here) until 31st March 2013
