"Perched on a Tree" giant exhibition on the platforms of the Luxembourg RER station

Doesn’t sound very sexy I know, but these giant photo and eco-friendly texts – exposed until January – are worth dallying for…

If you arrive at our hotels from the airport via the RER line B, Luxembourg is the nearest station for four of them. You’ll be greeted by six giant displays (20m x 6m!) on both platforms, showing photos by Philippe Cazaban explaining the environmental concerns of the RATP, the company that runs the Paris underground and bus network.

Choosing to use public transport helps better the quality of life in the city. The six themes chosen for the exhibition “Emit ideas, not CO2”, “Economising water, an idea that springs to mind”, “Breath the city, listen to the city”, “Economise your energy, not your efforts”, “Recycling, not a throwaway idea”, and “Bring space back into the city” are complemented by texts and figures illustrating the economies made simply by choosing public transport.

A special site has been put online so you can discover the exhibition virtually, and it’s rather well done! You can move from one image to another, zoom in, read the texts, learn more about the concept, read the photographer’s biography and see which events will be going on around the exhibition.

Admittedly, everything is in French, but if ou have a basic knowledge of the language and appreciate photography, why not take an extra ten minutes before jumping on your train to have a quick look?

The special site can be seen here.
